Man charged with murder over fatal stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after another man was found dead at a property in Birmingham.

Atiqullah Niazai, 26, was discovered with stab wounds at an address on Long Street, Sparkbrook on 28 August, West Midlands Police said.

Me'Schach Crichton, 28, from Birmingham, was charged with murder and appeared before the city's magistrates' court on Tuesday.

He was remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday.

A force spokesperson added that their specialist officers were continuing to support Niazai's family.
