Four men admit mistreating care home resident

Four care workers have admitted mistreating a resident at a home for adults with learning difficulties.

A 28-year-old at Broughton House and College, near Lincoln, was taken to hospital after suffering non-serious injuries, Lincolnshire Police said.

The men - Ibukun Abati-Sobulo, Inieridiong Jonah, Adans Richard and Samuel Adebayo - entered guilty pleas during a hearing before Judge Simon Hirst at Lincoln Crown Court on Wednesday.

The incidents took place at the home on 3 and 8 August, the court heard.

Abati-Sobulo, 40, of Riverside Drive, Lincoln, and Jonah, 29, of Hamilton Road, Lincoln, each admitted two charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

Richard, 46, of Park Lane, Lincoln, pleaded guilty to two counts of ill-treating or wilfully neglecting an individual while being employed as a care worker.

Adebayo, 33, of Maximus Road, North Hykeham, admitted one charge of ill-treating or wilfully neglecting an individual while being employed as a care worker.

The judge adjourned the case for a further hearing on 16 November.

Adebayo was granted conditional bail and the others were remanded into custody.
