Man suffers life-threatening injuries in stabbing

Police are investigating a stabbing in Wigan

A man has been seriously injured in a stabbing in a street attack.

Greater Manchester Police said the man was attacked in Avon Road, Wigan, at 20:30 BST on Friday.

The force said he had been left with life‑threatening injuries. No arrests have yet been made.

Det Insp Jonathan Waywell said it was a "shocking act of violence". Police have appealed for any witnesses or any dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage to contact investigators.
