Boy, four, and woman, 19, hit by van and injured

A four-year-old boy and 19-year-old woman are being treated in hospital after they were hit by a van while crossing the road, police said.

The pair had just disembarked from a bus and walked behind it to cross Dorcan Way, Swindon, at around 18:10 BST on Friday.

The boy suffered potentially serious injuries, and the woman has suffered serious, potentially life-changing injuries, Wiltshire Police said.

The van driver, a man in his 20s, stopped at the scene. The road has been reopened following police inquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage is being asked to contact police.
