Plans for a 125m (410ft) wind turbine at a port in Hull have been approved.

The proposals, put forward by Associated British Ports (ABP), were approved by Hull City Council's planning committee at a meeting on Wednesday.

Councillors heard the application was one of five planned across the Humber, including sites at Immingham and Grimsby.

An ABP representative told the meeting the scheme would make a direct contribution to ABP's commitment to be net zero by 2040.

"Energy security is also a major benefit," they added.

"With on-site generation helping to reduce exposure to market shocks, cost control to ABP and its customers and provides a foundation for growth."

Once built, the turbine is set to be in place until April 2061, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service,
