Man suffers hand injuries in shooting

A man is being treated in hospital after he was shot in the hand during an incident in Coleraine, County Londonderry.

Police said the victim was walking home between 01:00 and 01:30 BST on Sunday on the Bushmills Road when four shots were fired by a man dressed in black, who had his face covered.

One of these shots hit the victim in the hand.

The Bushmills Road is closed from the junction of the Ballycastle Road to the junction of the Artillery Road.

Police have appealed for information and video footage in relation to the incident.
