A man has been reported to prosecutors after a car was rammed through the door of a retail centre before being set alight in a raid on a clothing shop.

Police had been searching for four suspects after the Nissan Juke crashed through the front of Almondvale Shopping Centre in West Lothian in the early hours of 17 March.

It was alleged the men made off with several rails of designer clothes.

The man was reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the ram raid, as well as seven other break-ins at post offices, shops and homes in Midlothian, West Lothian, Edinburgh and Forth Valley.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said it was considering the report.

If there is enough evidence, COPFS would decide to go ahead with court proceedings.
