The airline says it expects to enter a new agreement for services to Grenoble

An airline will not be running any scheduled services to the French Alps this winter, after announcing it is looking to enter a new charter agreement instead.

Aurigny said it expected to enter a new agreement for its services to Grenoble, with an expectation there might be some limited flight-only options, set to be determined by the charter, not Aurigny.

The firm said this would then, in turn, enable a choice of winter packages to be made available to the ski slopes.

Aurigny has also placed its winter range of flights on sale, with its chief commercial officer, Philip Saunders, saying this reflected its "unwavering commitment" to connection in the bailiwick.

Saunders said: "Our winter schedule reflects Aurigny's unwavering commitment to keeping the bailiwick connected with a comprehensive network that supports island life throughout the year.

"While other crown dependencies often see far more significant reductions in flight frequencies and routes during the winter months, Aurigny continues to provide the stability and continuity islands depend on; with direct services to Paris, more frequencies to the Midlands and festive services to both Edinburgh and Dublin to support important family ties at Christmas."
