A woman who died after being attacked by two dogs in Wolverhampton has been named, and described by her family as "fun-loving and outgoing".

West Midlands Police were called to Willis Pearson Avenue, Bilston, at about 23:30 BST on 15 April.

A 78-year-old woman, Lila Hall, died at the scene. A 37-year-old man who was arrested has been released on bail.

"Lila, also known as Carol, was fun-loving, outgoing, hilarious and everyone's friend," her family said in a statement.

"We wish to thank the emergency services involved and thank you for the kind messages, flowers and words from family and friends."

The force said the dogs, which did not belong to Hall, had been assessed and were not believed to be a banned breed.

It added that officers remained in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.
