Trains have been stopped after a lorry hit and became wedged under a railway bridge in the New Forest.

The lorry struck the bridge in Lymington on the A337 Southampton Road at about 07:50 BST.

South Western Railway said engineers were on site examining the structure, with buses replacing trains between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day, and passengers are being urged to check their journey and allow extra time.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight police said no one was injured and no arrests had been made.
