'Speeding' jet-skiers stopped on popular lake
Cumbria PoliceThree jet-skiers were stopped for allegedly speeding on a popular Lake District water, police have said.
Cumbria Police and Lake District National Park rangers were carrying out patrols on Coniston Water on Saturday when they received complaints a red jet ski was being ridden at "excessive speeds and putting other lake users at risk" on Saturday.
Details of the two male riders were gained with a view of prosecuting the pair, the force said.
In the same patrol, officers saw another jet ski being "driven at excessive speed". The rider was given a warning letter advising them they could be prosecuted if they were seen "riding in an antisocial manner" again.
The force said it would continue to work with rangers "to keep the public safe and identify any further inconsiderate riding on the lakes".
