Child injured and two taken to hospital after crash

Two people have been taken to hospital and a child has been injured after a crash on the A5.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to reports of a two-car crash at the Queens Head Junction in Oswestry at 09:15 BST.

A man and a woman were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and a child was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries, the service added.

West Mercia Police, who also attended the scene, said the road had been partially blocked, but had since reopened and no arrests had been made.

The ambulance service added that the child had been discharged on the scene into the care of family.
