Fraud victim tricked into handing cash to bogus cops
Leicestershire PoliceA CCTV clue has been released as part of an investigation into a courier fraud scam in Leicestershire.
Police said earlier this year a woman in the north west of the county was tricked into withdrawing money and handing it over.
Between 25 March and 7 April, the victim was contacted by a man claiming to be a police officer who said her account had been used to try to buy a laptop and that she would need to withdraw money and hand it to the force for safe-keeping. A woman then visited her address to collect the money.
The force said anyone who recognises a woman pictured in CCTV images released on Friday should come forward.
