Robbers who assaulted man in his home jailed
West Mercia PoliceTwo robbers who kicked and stamped on a vulnerable man in his home have been jailed.
The victim opened his front door to them in the Horse Fair area of Kidderminster in June 2024.
Christopher Mallabar and Keylun Barker then forced their way in, threatened him with weapons, searched his address and stole £200.
At Worcester Crown Court sitting at Redditch, Mallabar, 36, and Barker, 20, admitted robbery and were sentenced to nine years 10 months and eight years and one month respectively.
They had attended their victim's home address at about 22:30 BST on 12 June 2024, West Mercia Police said.
CCTV footage captured the offenders before and after the robbery with a suspected firearm on them.
CID executed a warrant at Mallabar's home address on 18 June. He was not in, but handed himself in to Kidderminster police station the next day. Barker was arrested in September.
Det Con Stephen Lewis said they "callously preyed on a vulnerable man to rob him of £200" in a "place where everyone should feel safe and secure".
