Motorcyclist dies in crash with car

A motorcyclist has died in a crash with a car in Derby.

Police said the motorcycle and a VW Golf collided at the junction of Harvey Road and Neilson Street in Alvaston shortly after 10:30 BST on Wednesday.

The motorcyclist, who was in his 20s and from Derby, died at the scene and his family has been made aware.

A woman in her 30s who was driving the VW Golf is helping officers with their inquiries but has not been arrested, the force said.

Officers have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.
