Updated plans for retirement community approved
Getty ImagesUpdated plans for a retirement village in Surrey with 49 bungalows around a care hub have been approved by councillors.
The plans were originally approved in January but returned before Surrey Heath Borough Council on Thursday to improve accessibility, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
At the location on St Catherines Road, in Frimley, there will also be on-site care staff, plus a lounge, garden and an activities room for residents aged 65 and above.
SageHaus Living, which is leading the project, said homes would be made available to those with assessed care needs.
According to the resubmitted proposals, Loen House, which forms part of the project, will also be enlarged to create a new communal area.
The meeting was told on Thursday: "There are no changes to the number of bedrooms within the units.
"The changes are to allow for the widening of the staircases, I'm assuming for accessibility reasons... so there wouldn't be an increase in the number of occupants."
