Man admits part in online gang blackmailing kids

A man who was part of an online group that blackmailed young people and children around the world has been warned he will likely be jailed for his crimes.

Beau-jack Mensforth, 20, from Sunderland, admitted 17 charges including blackmail, sexual communications with children, making and distributing indecent images of children and participating in an organised crime group between 2023 and 2024.

At Newcastle Crown Court, Judge Roberts Adams said the "likelihood" was he would be given an immediate custodial sentence.

Mensforth was released on bail and is due to be sentenced on 27 November at a hearing listed for the afternoon to allow interested parties abroad to attend remotely.

The court heard Mensforth was "someone with significant issues".
