CrossCountry cancels trains due to driver shortage
BBCA number of CrossCountry rail services have been cancelled on Sunday due to a shortage of train drivers.
Services heading out of Birmingham to Reading, Newcastle, Nottingham will no longer run, as well as services into the city from Nottingham, Newcastle, Paignton, Bournemouth, Nottingham, Manchester Piccadilly and Bristol Temple Meads.
Cancellations have also been made on some of the operator's trains from Aberdeen, Cardiff Central, York, Sheffield, Glasgow Central, Dundee, and Plymouth.
Passengers on social media have reported trains being overcrowded the shortage of trains.
The disruption is expected to last until the end of the day.
Some services will make extra stops to collect passengers whose trains were cancelled.

The operator apologised for any inconvenience and said passengers should check before they travel.
