An e-fit image has been released of a man police would like to trace after a teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Sussex Police received a report that a man had grabbed and touched a girl in a field near Edinburgh Road, St Leonards, East Sussex, at about 15:05 BST on Monday.

Police said she screamed and the suspect made off towards Filsham Road.

The man was white, between 5ft 9in (1.75m) and 5ft 11in, in his early 30s to mid-40s, with light brown curly hair, stubble and wearing a red jacket and dark blue jeans, the force said.

Det Sgt Daisy Alden said: "The investigation continues to move at pace and our specially trained officers are supporting the victim."

Anyone with information or relevant footage is asked to contact police.
