An investigation into the closure of Guernsey's airport after an aircraft "left the runway" is now complete, the Air Accidents Investigation Branch has confirmed.

In April 2024, Guernsey Airport was closed for about two hours in the evening after an Aurigny flight from Gatwick came to a stop in the "end safety area" at the airport's western section.

A full emergency was declared but crews were stood down en route to the site. There were 63 passengers and four crew onboard but no injuries reported.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said its final report would be published "in due course".
