Motorcyclist dies after crash on key A-road

A motorcyclist has died after a single-vehicle crash on an A-road in Somerset.

Avon and Somerset Police said the man, aged in his 40s, died at the scene of the crash between Nether Stowey and Cannington on the A39 at about 13:00 BST on Saturday.

The force said the man was the rider of the motorcycle, adding his next of kin has been told and are being supported.

The incident, near the Cottage Inn at Keenthorne, closed the road in both directions for hours and reopened later that day.
