Two men have been arrested after two men suffered stab wounds during a fight in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers were called to The Strand in Longton, at 11:45 BST on Saturday after reports that people were fighting in the street. A cordon is in place.

"Two men were found with multiple suspected stab wounds and have been taken to hospital," a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. The second man, 22, was arrested on grievous bodily harm with intent. Both are from Stoke.

Another man, who police say may also be involved, ran off after it happened. He is described as white, bald, around 5ft 8ins tall, roughly middle-aged and wearing black joggers.

He was seen on King Street shortly after the incident took place.

West Midlands Ambulance also attended the scene.

The Staffordshire force is asking businesses to look at CCTV, and is keen to speak to anyone who may be able to help with its investigation.
