Hot air balloons were launched into the skies above Wiltshire this week as part of an air display to celebrate the opening of Longleat Safari Park 60 years ago.

Elsewhere, British farmers have been championed at an agricultural show in the Cotswolds.

Evening glory: This stunning sunset photograph was captured by one of our BBC Weather Watchers in the Gloucestershire countryside this week.

Show time: Princess Anne visited the ISDS International Supreme Sheepdog Trials at Daylesford on Friday.

Bees and porcelain fungi: These colourful images were captured by two winners of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust's 17th annual photography competition. It was a record-breaking year with more than 500 photographs submitted by nature lovers across Gloucestershire.

Fine specimens: The Moreton Show - one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows took place in Moreton-in-the Marsh, in the Cotswolds. Since 1949, the show has championed British farmers and growers, aiming to improve the standards of farming and farm crafts locally.

Outstanding work: The Child Abuse Investigation Team were team of the year winners at this year's Gloucestershire Police Recognition Awards this week. The awards celebrate the exceptional service given by police officers across the region.

Colourful crow: Thank you to Worthing Ben for spotting this beautiful jay with its distinctive electric-blue feathers.

Music maestro: Cam Jacobs from Salisbury - who has autism, ADHD and Tourette's - has spoken to the BBC about how joining the inclusive group Orchestras for All has transformed his life.

Buzz about town: Thank you to Bracken, a BBC Weather Watcher, for this stunning photo of a bumble bee touching down on a flower in Chippenham.

Super sculptures: More than 20 artists have transformed Avebury Manor Garden into an outdoor gallery, as it celebrates the 10th anniversary of its sculpture exhibition. Running until 18 October, the exhibition showcases a wide variety of contemporary works, such as At A Stretch, by Helen Greene.

Top cop: Congratulations to Alaina Coles (centre), who has been recognised with a Long Service Award at this year's Wiltshire Police Force Awards. She joined in 2005 and has helped to modernise investigative practices.

Happy retirement: The British Hen Welfare Trust has 147 hens which need new homes after coming to the end of their commercial laying lives. Volunteers are needed across Swindon and Wiltshire to take in two or more hens together.

Absolutely cracking: Over 200 pieces from the Aardman studio are being auctioned in London on 24 September. The collection covers the company's 50-year history and includes the original Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Feathers McGraw puppets.

Advice drop-ins: Ed Phillis, an advisor for Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire, has cycled 33 miles visiting every centre in a single day to raise money for the charity.

Party time: Windmill Hill City Farm in south Bristol celebrated its 50th anniversary with special events all throughout Saturday.

Building confidence: The Bristol-based charity, Art in Motion, is appealing for funding to be able to continue supporting artists with learning disabilities and neurodivergent conditions.

Forgotten history: A statue has been unveiled in Bedminster, Bristol, to honour ten miners, including a 15-year-old, who died in a huge underground explosion at Dean Lane Pit in 1886.

Team work: Staff at Horfield Leisure Centre were "thrilled" to be rated "excellent" for the quality of their service in a recent assessment for Sport England. The report praised the friendly colleagues, the state-of-the-art fitness suite and extensive range of activities.

Festival of nature: Two large floating platforms covered in 500 native plants have been launched in Bristol harbour to help improve the water quality.

Landmark film: The film director, Ken Loach - who is a big fan of Bath City - was honoured at Twerton Park on Thursday. To celebrate his 90th birthday back in June, his acclaimed film, Kes, was screened at the ground.

State-of-the-art screening: Somerset has two new mobile breast screening units, which will offer women a quieter and more reliable service. The previous vehicles had been in use for 15 years and had become costly and difficult to maintain.
