West Midlands Fire Service said it was alerted at 02:22 BST on Thursday to a house fire in Pickwick Gardens and that the first crew arrived at the scene within five minutes.
According to the service, the fire involved the roof space of a large, detached, two-storey property.
Two women had left the property before fire crews arrived and people from a neighbouring property were also evacuated as a precaution.
Four fire engines, a 4x4 brigade response vehicle and an aerial platform were mobilised.
Gas and electricity supplies were isolated, and utility companies and a structural engineer also attended.
