New open air music festival to get under way

About 40,000 people are expected to attend a new music festival in Kent featuring Madness, JLS and Becky Hill.

Canterbury Live will take place at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury from Friday to Sunday.

JLS are to headline on Friday, with The Wanted 2.0 and Pixie Lott among those to feature across the day.

Becky Hill and 1970s group Madness are the headliners on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Ella Eyre, The Ordinary Boys and Cast, fresh from touring as part of the Oasis Live 25 celebrations, will also appear across the weekend.

The festival aims to bring people together for an "unforgettable weekend of live music in a truly special setting", a spokesperson for promoter Supermodified said.

The festival will also champion emerging talent through a special collaboration with BBC Introducing in Kent, which will see local artists given the opportunity to perform.
