Fire forces residents from block of flats

People living in a block flats have been forced to leave their homes in the early hours after a fire broke out.

Crews were called to Sarnia Court in Southampton at about 03:00 GMT after reports of smoke and alarms sounding in the block.

Hampshire fire service said firefighters were working to put the fire within the building's cavity wall out.

They added there were no reports of injuries and it was supporting residents with Southampton City Council. People are being urged to avoid the area around Boniface Crescent.
