Police search under way after man raped

A man who raped another man in Slough is being hunted by police.

Thames Valley Police said between 01:00 and 01:30 BST on Tuesday the victim, who is in his 20s, was was approached while walking down the long alley just beyond Pickford Gardens.

The offender shouted at him, then exposed himself, before raping him, a spokesperson said.

Det Insp Liam Butler said: "We understand an incident of this nature will cause concern within the community. This investigation remains in its early stages and we are working hard to establish the full circumstances."

The offender is described as a white man in his early 20s with a skinny build, short brown hair, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, and a local accent.

Det Insp Butler said: "We are investigating this report thoroughly and extensively.

"Since the rape was reported to us, officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident and identify the offender."

He added: "As part of our ongoing enquiries, detectives will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries and CCTV checks in the area."

The man who was attacked was walking over the bridge on Lansdowne Avenue and crossed the road at the bottom of the bridge before reaching Pickford Gardens, police said.

Det Insp Butler said the force was keen to hear from anyone who "may have seen this incident, or part of the incident, as it unfolded".

"We are particularly keen to hear from motorists with dash-cam footage recorded in the area around the time of the offence, as this may assist our investigation," he said.
