Structural engineers are due to assess the damage to the building later

A man has been left with life-threatening injuries after a car they were a passenger in crashed into a town centre shopfront.

The vehicle smashed into the Longsons estate agents branch on Watton's High Street shortly before 23:00 GMT on Sunday.

The driver of the car - a black Kia Magentis - was also freed by fire crews. Norfolk Police said the two men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

A police spokesperson said the road was closed at its junction with Dereham Road and would remain shut "for some time". The "structural integrity" of the building was being assessed, they added.
