A second man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Doncaster.

Wayne Solomon, 57, was found seriously injured in Galsworthy Close on 24 June, and later died in hospital.

South Yorkshire Police said Carlos Yates, 19, of Balby Road, Doncaster, was due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates' Court later, charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

Brandon Gilbert, 24, of no fixed abode, was previously charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing at Sheffield Crown Court in January.

Three men, 28, 32 and 52, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 43-year-old man and two women, 45 and 51, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, all remain on bail.

In a family statement released via police at the time, the victim was described as a "cherished" man, whose "kindness, warmth and sense of humour made him unforgettable".
