Man jailed after suffocating woman with pillow
Wiltshire PoliceA man has been jailed after suffocating a woman with a pillow, an incident which caused "lasting and life-changing damage".
Timothy Bossard, 42 and from Ludwell in Wiltshire, was sentenced to 21 months imprisonment at Winchester Crown Court on 11 June after he was found guilty of intentional suffocation.
In a victim impact statement read in court, his victim said: "I have gone from being someone who supports others and helps them with their lives, to being someone who now needs help themselves."
Bossard was also given a two-year restraining order.
The incident happened in 2025 when Bossard suffocated the woman - who he was in a relationship with - with a pillow.
In December, she reported the incident to police and an investigation began.
Her victim impact statement continued: "This change has been deeply painful and disorientating. His actions have caused lasting and life-changing damage that I continue to live with every day."
Investigator Catherine Barrett from Wiltshire Police said: "Bossard's actions left his victim living in constant fear of what he might do next.
"I'd like to commend the victim for her courage in coming forward and supporting this investigation. Her strength has ensured that Bossard can no longer pose a threat to her."
As part of the restraining order, Bossard cannot contact his victim or go to her address.
