The site of a former Hull nightclub could soon be turned into an electric vehicle charging point.

Plans have been submitted to Hull City Council by DHS Properties Ltd for land on the corner of Osborne Street and Anne Street to create a charging hub with 12 parking spaces.

The site was once home to Heaven & Hell nightclub, which has remained vacant since the building was demolished in 2021.

According to the proposals, the project would bring back into use a "vacant brownfield site" that currently has a "negative impact on the quality of the surrounding built environment".

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the scheme would include six charging points, each capable of charging two vehicles.

It will also have a car wash and vacuuming station.

The site has had several planning applications associated with it since the nightclub closed.

In 2021, there were plans submitted to build a residential building on the land with up to 70 apartments.

There were also plans to convert the site into a 132-bed hotel in 2011.
