A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed and a 21-year-old has been arrested

A teenager has been stabbed and a man has been arrested following an incident in Worcester.

West Mercia Police were called to Northfield Street at about 11:40 BST on Monday.

The 16-year-old victim was found with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.

Residents in the area have been told to expect an increased police presence in the area as officers remain at the scene and carry out enquiries into the assault.

A police spokesperson added: "The incident was contained to inside the property and there is not believed to be a wider risk to the public."
