People will be able to attend a public hearing addressing queries on a government's latest set of accounts.

Guernsey's Scrutiny Management Committee said it was hosting the meeting at St Martin's Parish Hall between 10:00 and 12:00 BST on Thursday, 11 June.

Those on the panel include chair Deputy Andy Sloan, advocate Peter Harwood and Claire Savage who will address questions the Public Accounts Sub-Committee has highlighted within the 2025 States accounts.

Sloan said it was important for the accounts to be "examined in public", especially "at a time when a major tax policy proposal is about to be published".

He said: "The Public Accounts Committee's role is to cut through competing interpretations, test the evidence and establish as clearly as possible the true state of the States' finances.

"Before the Assembly is asked to consider significant tax-raising measures, islanders deserve clarity on the financial position that is said to make those measures necessary."

The committee said islanders would not be able to ask questions but they could observe the meeting. It will also be streamed on YouTube.
