Deputy Rhona Humphreys said the meeting could help to shape "future focused trade"

Two Guernsey politicians have represented the island at a Commonwealth trade summit in London.

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva Miller, President of the Committee for Economic Development, and Deputy Rhona Humphreys, member for international trade, joined leaders from across the 56 Commonwealth nations at the 2026 Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit in London.

The event focused on shared economic priorities, including AI, sustainable energy, infrastructure, health technologies, creative industries and global financial trends.

Humphreys said: "By working closely with our partners, we can help shape open, fair, and future focused trade that supports long-term prosperity for our community."

She said: "This summit has demonstrated the importance of strong, forward-looking partnerships for Guernsey's continued success.

"Our place within the British family and the wider Commonwealth gives us a powerful platform to advance Guernsey's international trade interests."
