Police in North Yorkshire are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died at the scene of a crash.

It happened on the A1246, at the junction with Holyrood Lane, between Lumby and Ledsham, at about 15:10 BST on Sunday and involved no other vehicles, according to police.

The man's family was being supported by specially trained officers, a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

Officers asked anyone who saw a Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle in the area in the time before the crash to get in touch.
