Men jailed for throwing Molotov cocktails at homes
South Wales PoliceTwo men have been jailed after throwing Molotov cocktails through the windows of three separate homes in south Wales over the course of less than six hours on the same day.
Yasin Hussain, 18, and Adam Taylor-Morris, 19, were driven down from Scotland by Taylor-Morris' sister on 1 June 2026, thereafter travelling in taxis between the three targeted houses.
At one home, the petrol-filled bottle ignited on impact and could have caused "serious injury or loss of life", police said.
Taylor-Morris and Hussain were sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, after previously pleading guilty to three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
The two teenagers arrived at Porcher Avenue, in Glyncoch, Pontypridd, at about 04:00 BST on 1 June this year, after being driven to Wales by Danni Taylor.
The family in the house was woken by the sound of their living room window being smashed by a brick.
A Molotov cocktail was then aimed at the hole in the broken window, but missed and smashed on the floor outside.
Taylor-Morris and Hussain fled the scene.
The pair then caught a taxi to the Caerphilly area where, at about 07:00, they launched a brick through the window of a home on Wallis Drive.
A glass bottle full of petrol was thrown through the window and ignited on impact. The fire was subsequently extinguished, according to South Wales Police.
In the third such incident, Taylor-Morris and Hussain caught another taxi to a location on Pearson Crescent in Glyncoch.
At about 09:00, the two teenagers approached the house, where Taylor-Morris filmed Hussain putting a Molotov cocktail through the open window of a living room, which set the room alight.
Det Con Connor Michael said: "These were deliberate and dangerous arson attacks which could have had devastating consequences, including serious injury or loss of life.
"The sentences handed down reflect the severity of the offenders' actions and we hope they serve as a warning that such reckless behaviour will not be tolerated."
Danni Taylor, 24, from Perth and Kinross, has pleaded guilty to participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, and will be sentenced at a later date.
