A man has been arrested over rape of a 16-year-old girl in a Glasgow park.

Police Scotland said the teenager was assaulted in Springburn Park in the north of the city between 20:30 and 21:15 on Friday 26 June.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack.

Det Insp Sharon McPeake said it was a "concerning incident" and thanked the public for its help with the investigation.

She added: "We are continuing to engage with the local community and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to one of our officers."
