Bus drivers to step out on 100k walking challenge
SuppliedTwo bus drivers who have raised £35,000 for charities are preparing to take on one last ultra challenge.
Dave McMullan, 57, and Kim Whitehead, 41, from Grimsby, will take on the North Yorkshire Ultra – an endurance walk from Scarborough to Whitby and back.
The 62-mile (100km) challenge will take place on 20-21 June, with the pair aiming to raise £1,200 for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance charity.
McMullan said: "I had retired from doing these crazy events, but Kim said we had to do one more as it's new and not far to travel."
SuppliedThe pair are known as the Stagecoach Strollers after the bus firm they work for.
Last year, they raised £2,278 for the Stroke Association after completing the Ultra Challenge Lake District, in what they described as "wet and difficult conditions".
McMullan added: "All your help and support over the years has been truly amazing, and Kim and I could not do it without your fabulous donations.
"So, for one last time, please help us raise money for another great charity."
