Fire crews use sledge to rescue sheep from canal
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue ServiceFirefighters used a sledge to rescue a sheep which got stuck in a canal in south Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 07:30 BST on Thursday to a canal off Botterham Lane, Swindon, following reports that a sheep had entered the water and got stuck.
Water and animal rescue teams attended the scene with numerous appliances, with crews using a sledge to rescue the sheep and return the animal to its field.
The sheep was not injured and crews left the scene at around 09:25 BST.
