Tangled dog Twiggy rescued by firefighters
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue ServiceA dog that got entangled in a barbed wire fence had to be rescued by firefighters.
Twiggy became trapped on Thursday at about 11:00 BST on The Fen in Fenstanton in Cambridgeshire.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service was called and watch commander Rob Edwards from the Chatteris station said Twiggy had been in pain and distress.
"With the help of the owner we kept Twiggy calm and carefully cut the wire around her, then carried her back to the owner's vehicle," he said.
"Luckily, she didn't sustain a serious injury, but did require a trip to the vet as a precaution."
He added that Twiggy's owner had been "very grateful" and the crew had returned to the Chatteris station by 13:00.
