Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

Police said a motorcyclist in his 50s had serious but not life-threatening injuries

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash with a car.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at about 13:25 BST on Sunday following the crash which involved a motorcycle and a Mitsubishi Mirage car near the Bowd Inn, Sidmouth, Devon.

As a result, the motorcycle rider, who is in his 50s, had serious but not life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police said the A3052 was closed while officers from its roads policing team conducted initial investigations. The force has appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
