Three more arrests over disorder at Celtic title party

Three more men have been arrested over disorder in Glasgow city centre as football fans celebrated Celtic's Premiership title win.

The trouble in May saw two officers seriously injured and three members of the public requiring hospital treatment as a result of violence and anti-social behaviour at the Trongate.

Police investigating the disorder attended addresses in Glasgow, Rutherglen and Greenock earlier, and arrested three men - aged 33, 35 and 37 - over offences including assault, breach of the peace and culpable and reckless conduct.

It brings the total number of arrests to 47, with some of them subsequently charged over the disorder.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing and vowed more arrests would be made.

Supt Derrick Johnston said: "I hope these arrests today make it clear that anyone involved in anti-social behaviour, violence or disorder, will be brought to justice.

"The disorder had a significant impact on communities, businesses, police officers and supporters and it will not be tolerated and anyone involved should expect to be identified and arrested.

"I would continue to encourage anyone with any information to contact us."
