Wolves fans launch anniversary shirt

A Wolverhampton Wanderers' fan group has launched a special shirt to mark the club's 150th anniversary season.

Four friends who are part of Old Gold Pack said they spent months bringing their concept to life to mark the anniversary in 2027 and although it had been a lot of work, it was "an absolute joy to get it done".

The majority of the profits from the sale of the shirt are to be donated to Wolverhampton hospice charity Compton Care.

Kieran Newey from the group said to see fans wearing the shirt as the new season kicks off will be "crazy".

"We've always been really big fans of football culture and we'd always talked about designing a football shirt," he said.

"For the 150th anniversary we've done some really crazy things with Old Gold Pack and some huge designs at Molineux and we thought why don't we just try it and see what we can achieve and the ball really started rolling from there."

The group said the shirt featured a crest synonymous with Wolverhampton and they have "reworked it into something that reflects the city, as supporters would like to see it".

The Old Gold Pack fans' group, which was established about four season ago, has designed and organised previous stadium displays including for ex-players Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota after his death in 2025.

To make the shirts, Newey said they found a manufacturer in the UK and it has "just really spiralled from there".

"Here we are now at the launch getting them out... and people will start receiving them this week which is crazy to think.

"To actually see people at the Molineux in a couple of weeks for the first game against Blackburn, hopefully wearing our shirts... it's going to be crazy to see.

"But the most important thing for us is that we're giving back to charity and we're able to celebrate something that is from Wolves fans, for Wolves fans whilst giving back to charity as well."

Steve Bull is a patron for Compton Care and Newey said when he found out about the shirt he wanted to see one.

"He absolutely loves it... and thinks it's great. There are some photos of Bully wearing it on our socials and he absolutely loves the shirt."

Speaking earlier this year, he said they hoped to sell them for £50, with the majority of profits donated to Wolverhampton charity Compton Care and the rest funding future fan displays and flags.
