Three dead in two separate crashes

Three people have died in two separate crashes in Northern Ireland on Saturday.

Two people were killed following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car at Upper Ballinderry in County Antrim.

In a separate incident, one person died after a single-vehicle crash in County Tyrone on Saturday evening.

Police have appealed for information and digital footage in relation to both incidents.

Glenavy Road crash

Police said they received a report shortly before 18:00 BST on Saturday of a collision in the Glenavy Road area of Upper Ballinderry.

The emergency service attended, but the drivers of both vehicles died at the scene.

"Another person was taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries," Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Det Insp Dave Stewart added.

"The road, which was closed for a time between the junctions of Soldierstown Road and Hammonds Road, has since reopened."

Caledon crash

In County Tyrone, police received a report shortly after 23:00 BST of a crash involving a van in the Derrycourtney Road in Caledon.

The police, ambulance and fire service attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Derrycourtney Road, which was closed overnight, has reopened.

Serious crash in Antrim

Meanwhile in Antrim, the Belfast Road at Nutts Corner in Antrim remains closed in both directions following a serious road traffic collision.

Diversions are in place at the Nutts Corner roundabout, BoltmcConnel Road, Ballyutoag Road and Ballyhill Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.
