A 16-year old boy has died from injuries he sustained in a car crash in which two other teenage passengers were injured.

A blue Volkswagen Polo hit a tree between the carriageway of the A4104, near Defford and Bourne Road in Worcestershire, at about 21:20 BST on Saturday.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving in excess of drink and drugs.

Det Sgt Rose Hughes, of West Mercia Police, said the family of the boy were being supported by specialist officers, and appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
