Reopening of Post Office damaged by fire delayed
Post OfficeThe reopening of a Post Office branch that was damaged in a suspected arson attack has been delayed.
The branch at Midsummer Boulevard, Milton Keynes, has been closed since June, and the service was temporarily relocated to Midsummer Place on 4 November.
The Post Office had hoped to return to its original location on Wednesday, but said "major repair work" was still needed and it could not estimate when it would be completed.
Thames Valley Police charged a 47-year-old man with arson with intent to endanger life in connection with the incident, and he is due to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on 8 December.
Elsewhere in the city, a new Post Office was opened at Milton Keynes Hobbycraft on Saturday.
This is the second Hobbycraft store in the UK to have a Post Office - the first opened the day before in Southampton.
