A West Midlands Police officer has denied assaulting a man during an arrest in Wolverhampton.

PC Brandon Harrison is also accused of administering a noxious substance with intent to injure, in relation to the arrest in August last year.

He was charged after an Independent Office for Police Conduct investigation into allegations he used excessive force during an arrest also involving Pava incapacitant spray on a man while he was restrained in a police cell.

Harrison appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday where he entered not guilty pleas, and will go on trial in nearly two years' time, on 3 March 2028.

He is yet to appear on a charge under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, relating to an allegation he recorded footage from police body-worn video on to his mobile phone without policing purpose.
