Dartford tunnel reopens after crane causes delays
Trafficcameras.ukThe Dartford Crossing between Kent and Essex has reopened after a broken-down crane leaked oil, causing severe delays, according to National Highways.
The government agency said the west (left) bore of the tunnel had been closed as teams worked to remove the stranded 50-tonne vehicle on Thursday evening.
National Highways said shortly after 21:00 BST that the spillage had been treated, and a planned roadworks closure had been pushed back to 23:00.
Motorists had faced two-hours delays, with residual delays of 30 mins and two miles of congestion remaining on the approach by about 22:00, a National Highways spokesperson said.
