A12 closed in both directions after crash

A major road in Essex was blocked in both directions following a multi-vehicle crash.

Both sides of the A12 between junction 19 for Boreham and junction 20 at Crix, near Chelmsford, were closed just before 15:00 BST.

National Highways said emergency services at the scene included the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

The southbound carriageway was reopened at about 16:00 and the northbound carriageway reopened at about 18:15.
