A cordon is in place at a park in Chelmsford while emergency services respond to an incident.

Essex Police said officers remain at the scene after they were called to Central Park at about 19:00 BST.

The force said a visible police presence would be in place in the area alongside other emergency services while inquiries were carried out.

It said: "We would ask the public to avoid the area at this time wherever possible to allow emergency services the space to work."

An Essex and Herts air ambulance was also at the scene before taking off.

On social media Chelmsford Central Parkrun said Saturday's event had been cancelled "on police advice".
